Gillian is an experienced and passionate music educator and cellist, with over 20 years of teaching experience in both private studios and elementary schools.

She holds a Master of Music from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Music from the University of Lethbridge, and a Chamber Music Diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Gillian studied with cellists Robert Bardston and Shauna Rolston, and received chamber music coachings from members of the Gryphon Trio, as well as the Penderecki String Quartet. She has played in numerous chamber music ensembles, and performed in masterclasses at the Banff Centre for cellists, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Zara Nelsova.

Specializing in cello instruction, including training in the Suzuki Strings Method, Gillian has nurtured the musical growth of students of all ages and levels. Whether teaching one-on-one or in group classes, she is thrilled to foster skill and inspire confidence in her students, as they develop a love of music and a personal connection with their instrument.

Most recently, Gillian earned a Bachelor of Education from Vancouver Island University, and she has been both a music and a classroom teacher with the Victoria School District for the past 13 years.
