Carl Perkins' Rock-A-Billy Guitar Workshop: Part 1 of 2

Nov 19, 2016 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm

1905 Davie St

Blue Suede Shoes to the Beatles, Carl Perkins' guitar playing influenced a lot of musicians and set audiences on the edge of their seats with his intense and lively style of guitar and singing.

As one of the greats to get his recording start at SUN Records in Memphis, his writing and playing carved a path for the next wave of musicians, namely the Beatles. They were heavily influenced by Carl's music and George Harrison's guitar playing drew heavily on the sound and phrases he learned by copying him.

Paul Mowbray has been studying the rockabilly style and has done the analysis to break it down and explain it to us in a tangible way.

Lonny Koch assists these sessions.

Two Saturday afternoons, Nov 19 and 26, 4:00 - 5:30  PM

Small group class, held at South Island Studio in Victoria.

Email or call to register, and get your Rock-A-Billy shoes laced up just right.
